Happy New Year! Welcome 2023…..

Happy New Year! I hope you had a chance to celebrate Christmas with your loved ones and are looking forward to what 2023 will bring. I’m very happy to confirm that classes will return online on the 4th January and in person on the 8th January at Lychpit Community Hall.

I am really excited to announce a new class coming to the schedule – Restorative yoga – info below. And, the culmination of what will be 3 years of training and study in yoga therapy.

Following the success of the 1-day yoga and art retreat held in 2022, Liam and I are busy planning for this coming year – watch this space!

All regular classes are listed here and you can book, complete your health questionnaire and pay all from the same Bookwhen platform. It would be great if you could book a week in advance.

I look forward to seeing you soon.

Namaste

P.S.

As Covid is still about please don’t attend class if you have any symptoms or have been with anyone who has symptoms. As mentioned in previously, I have an autoimmune disease and I’m on immune suppressing drug therapy so this is very important to me, I hope you understand.

Yoga Therapy Diploma & Case Studies

I am in the final year of my postgraduate Yoga Therapy diploma which has been fascinating and a lot of hard work (please remind me not to undertake another long course for a while!)

Yoga therapy has lots of definitions but the one that resonates most with me is from the Minded Institute: “yoga therapy is the application of yoga practices to alleviate physical and mental health conditions with the view of promoting self-care and encouraging overall well-being.”

Yoga therapy is now recognised by doctors and is part of the ‘social prescribing’ approach within the NHS that helps individuals to be part of their own healing process.

To complete my qualification, I need 6 people to conduct yoga therapy case study sessions with. Each person will need to attend 6 therapy sessions of approximately 1hr long at the Infinite Harmony Cabin in Basingstoke.

I am specifically looking for people who have the following issues to help me put into practice what I have studied:

  • Hormonal issues including peri/menopause, endometriosis & PCOS
  • Autoimmune disorders including inflammatory & rheumatoid arthritis
  • Mental Health issues including anxiety, depression and disordered eating
  • Digestive issues including IBS and IBD

Yoga therapy really is for everyone – you don’t need to be able to get down on the floor. The sessions are highly focused on your needs and apply the therapeutic principles of yoga, movement, breathing techniques and mindfulness/meditation.

Please note that there will be a small discretionary charge/donation for the sessions attended. If you would like to be considered as a case study please complete the form that can be found following this link: https://forms.gle/fApSNc1r9hVwYYxSA
